Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Advanced Duluth Insulation Company website and any work you hire us to do. By using the site, starting at our home page, or by accepting an estimate from us, you agree to them.
If a written estimate or contract for your job says something different from these terms, the written document for your job wins for that job.
What we do
Advanced Duluth Insulation Company is an insulation contractor in Duluth, MN. We insulate and air seal attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements, remove old insulation, install spray foam and vapor barriers, and do commercial work in Duluth and the cities around it.
We're fully licensed and insured. You can read more about how we work on our About page.
What's on this website is general information to help you understand the work. It isn't a quote and it isn't advice for your particular house, because we can't know what's in your attic or walls until we've seen it.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free and done at your property, with no pressure and no obligation. Your price depends on the size of the space, how much insulation is already up there and what shape it's in, how much air sealing the house needs, the material you choose and how hard the space is to get into.
An estimate is based on what we can see on the day we look. Sometimes we only find a problem once the job is open, like insulation that's been soaked or is full of droppings, buried vents or damaged framing. When that happens we stop, show you what we found and give you the added cost in writing, and we don't do the extra work until you approve it.
Your written estimate lists what's included. Anything not listed there isn't part of the job unless we agree to it in writing.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We'll set a start date with you and tell you about how long the crew will be at your house. Weather, material deliveries and conditions we find on site can push a date, and if that happens we'll call you as soon as we know.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, which usually means clearing a path to the attic hatch or crawl space and keeping kids and pets away from where we're working.
Some foam products need the house empty for a while after they're sprayed. When your job uses one, we'll tell you the re-entry time, which is when it's safe for your family and pets to come back inside, before we start, and you agree to follow it.
If you need to cancel or move your date, call us at (218) 206-2942 as early as you can. If we've already ordered material or started work, you're responsible for those costs as described in your estimate.
Payment
Payment is due as stated on your estimate or invoice, including any deposit the estimate asks for. If the estimate doesn't say, the balance is due when the work is done.
If a balance goes unpaid, we may stop work, and you may be responsible for reasonable collection costs to the extent the law allows.
Our work and warranties
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If something isn't right with our work, call us and we'll come back, look at it and make it right.
Insulation and foam products carry their own maker's warranties, and we'll pass those along to you. Apart from what's written in your estimate or contract and those maker's warranties, we don't give any other warranties, express or implied, to the extent the law allows.
Our work doesn't fix problems that come from somewhere else in the house, such as roof leaks, plumbing leaks, old wiring, ground moisture or pests. We'll point out what we see, but those repairs aren't part of an insulation job unless your estimate says so.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Advanced Duluth Insulation Company isn't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your home or changes in your energy costs, that come from our work or from using this website.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any job is limited to what you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
If we disagree
If you have a problem with our work or a bill, call us first, because most issues get settled in one conversation and a visit. If we can't work it out together, either of us can take the matter to the courts that serve Duluth, Minnesota.
Which state's law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. When we do work in another state, such as in Superior, Wisconsin, any rules of that state that must apply to the job still apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time and post the new version on this page. The terms in place when you accepted your estimate are the ones that apply to that job.
Questions about these terms
If anything here is unclear, call us at (218) 206-2942 or reach us through our Contact page, and we'll walk you through it.
